Great scuba trip to Catalina Island
We had a great diving trip to Catalina Island today. We did two dives , The Wall and The Aquarium. The water was nice and clear, the visibility was good. We saw a spotted eagle ray, about 7 ft long and 4 ft span, lobsters, a huge puffer fish and lots of other marine life. We had great time and enjoyed every minute of it.
After the dives we went to the island to have a lunch and relax for a while on the beautiful white beach. The high season ended so the island wasn’t crowded at all.
On the way back to Bayahibe Bay the ocean was a bit wavy. We came back at the right time, an hour later we had a quick tropical shower. The divers usually don’t mind the rain, but it’s better to enjoy the boat ride under sunny sky then in a pouring rain.

My dive buddy kim and i have just returned from Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. She and i are new divers having received our certifications in february of this year.. we were looking for a dive operation that had a good dive master who would lead us in 2 days of diving during our annual vacation.. In doing some research i found divingdr.com and Vladi. I contacted them and we had a great experience.
Vladi runs a small family operation, which includes wife Denise, son Vlad. Vladi is an excellent scuba diving instructor who took his time to set up the dive at locations he knew we would be interested in. He explained the details of the dive before hand, personally took us on the dives. He spent time showing us corals and critters on the reefs that we would have never seen and then he debriefed us after the dive. During our full day dive to two sites at Isle of Catalina off the coast, he provided a full lunch and all the drinks and water we would want on all the dives. He even picked us up at the hotel utilizing his dive boat.
All the other dive operations i watched during my stay consisted of a large dive boat taking a dozen or more divers of various skill levels out to a site with one or two experienced divers as leaders… those i thought were dangerous situations if someone got into trouble.
If you want a personalized experience with complete confidence in your safety and an opportunity to learn new skills with an instructor who knows the area, you can do no better than Vladi, at divingdr.com

I wish more people would write blogs like this that are actually fun to read. With all the junk floating around on the internet, it is refreshing to read a blog like yours instead.
