Catalina Island

Isla Catalina, a beautiful Caribbean island that has been nominated as one of the top ten diving destinations in the Caribbean. It’s very popular for scuba diving and snorkeling trips, specially for travelers coming by cruise ships to La Romana port, as it’s only 1.5 miles from the mainland.

The dives at The Aquarium and The Wall are usually the two dives for this trip, then lunch and relax time on the white sandy beach.

As said above it is a very popular destination not only for local dive shops, but also for the cruise ships arriving to La Romana port, meaning thousands of visitors, scuba divers, snorkelers or just tourists visiting the island and surrounding area every month, so the marine life and corals are not as good as they used to be. The sea on the way back gets usually wavy after 2 PM causing some discomfort for most people.

When we offer day trips, scuba diving or just snorkeling trips, we like to give our clients the best experience possible. We do not limit the dive time, we do not have set schedule for the trips, our clients do their own schedule and mostly like to enjoy the whole day on the water. And since the sea is not too calm after in the afternoon and most of the people get sea sick, we do not offer this as a day trip anymore.
