Saona Island

Isla Saona, the largest Dominican island, is part of Parque Nacional del Este and is a government protected natural reserve. Large areas around the island are only just few feet deep due to many natural sandbars. It’s great place to watch marine life, specially hundreds of starfish, even without snorkeling or diving equipment, just standing in couple feet deep crystal clear water.
